As noted earlier, WWE is going ahead with a DVD on Owen Hart, even though his wife Martha Hart is all against it. WWE also discussed a 2016 Hall of Fame induction for Owen but Martha obviously wouldn’t support it. Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that they could still do it but many feel it’s not worth the controversy if Owen’s widow isn’t supporting it.
Owen Hart has been one of those names whose induction in the HOF has been long overdue. This year, WWE finally inducted Macho Man Randy Savage into the Class of 2015.
Owen died on May 23, 1999 at Over The Edge pay-per-view after a fatal fall from the rafters onto the ring. During his stint with the WWE in both the New Generation and Attitude Era, he won several accolades including one World title, Intercontinental title on two occasions, four-time Tag Team champions. He was also the winner of the 1994 King of the Ring.
