He is the Boogeyman and he is coming to get ya’

Former WWE Superstar Boogeyman is rumoured to make his return to the company in the upcoming week. As the special Halloween edition of RAW will be taking place next week, it is expected that Boogey will make an appearance during the event. The former World Champion Goldberg is already confirmed for that episode of the red brand.

Martin Wright, aka Boogeyman, has a legend’s contract with WWE, which he had signed in November 2015. Per the contract, he is scheduled to make a few appearances in non-wrestling roles. WWE has brought back several former superstars recently to enhance their current storylines. The list includes Curt Hawkins, Spirit Squad, the Headbangers, Rhyno and Brian Kendrick. Unlike them, the Boogeyman may not be involved in a physical confrontation with any other superstar.

Wright still performs in a few independent wrestling shows, including Booker T’s wrestling promotion. The rumors regarding a possible WWE return of the Boogeyman started when two indy promoters were trying to book the former WWE superstar for some dates in December and January. The offers were rejected and they were told that Wright would be working with WWE by then.

The last time fans witnessed Boogeyman inside the WWE ring was in the past year’s Royal Rumble match. He was the #7 entrant and was quickly eliminated by Bray Wyatt.

Boogeyman has been a constant part of WWE’s main roster between 2005-08. During his tenure with the company, he had memorable feuds with the likes of JBL, Booker T, Finlay, Big Daddy V. Apart from the in-ring performances, he was famous for frightening other superstars and often appeared in random places like vans, closets, etc.

Recently, a news was leaked online by an United Kingdom based wrestling promotion that the Boogeyman did not appear for the show despite receiving payment. It will be interesting to see, how WWE reacts to the situation.
