WWE News: Booker T reveals run-in with Goldberg at WrestleMania 34 and challenges him to a match

What’s the story?

Booker T has taken to social media so as to challenge Goldberg to a match.

Apparently, Goldberg got wind of the same and has chimed in with his two cents of Booker T’s challenge.

In case you didn’t know…

Booker T and Goldberg were two of WCW’s biggest stars back in the promotion’s heyday, and following WWE’s buyout of WCW, both performers went on to achieve great success in WWE as well.

While Booker T was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2013, Goldberg was a part of the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame class.

It was on the July 24th, 2000 episode of Nitro that Booker T successfully defended his WCW Championship against Goldberg--something Booker T has referenced in his latest challenge to Goldberg.

The heart of the matter

While being recorded in a gym, Booker T cut an impromptu promo for the cameras; revealing that he had a run-in with Goldberg backstage at WrestleMania 34. Booker T stated—

"I had an issue with Goldberg just a couple weeks ago because I was riding my hoverboard at WrestleMania…Goldberg, he was talking about how I wasn't in shape because I was riding the hoverboard. I said, 'Look Goldberg, I work out at the gym. You feel me? I work out on the gym on a regular basis.'"

"They could add an extra match to that Greatest Royal Rumble and it would be Booker T and Goldberg, the rematch from when I beat him back in WCW."

Furthermore, Booker T pointed out that they could possibly compete in a match at WrestleMania 35; besides challenging Goldberg to a pull-up contest, as well as a pose-down. Goldberg responded to the aforementioned video on Twitter; asserting that it’s simply hilarious—

What’s next?

Booker T and Goldberg are presently retired from the sport of professional wrestling.

While Goldberg has previously emphasised that he isn’t ruling out a potential return to the ring down the line, Booker T will serve as a part of the commentary team on the upcoming episode of Monday Night RAW.

Author’s take

Booker T sure does have a great sense of humour, and his social media call-outs have become a thing of great hilarity ever since he worked the entire professional wrestling community with his fabricated ‘feud’ against Corey Graves.

Nevertheless, given the incredible shape both Booker T and Goldberg seem to be in, perhaps a future matchup between the duo isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
