Carmella did retain her SmackDown Women's Championship against Asuka with the help of James Ellsworth, but interestingly, Carmella was on the outside of the ring for much longer than a ten count and wasn't actually counted out.
Instead, the referee seemed occupied with what was going on in the ring and actually failed to officiate the match properly. Ellsworth was once again able to cause enough of a distraction that he was able to keep all of the attention on him and Carmella was then able to slide into the ring and pick up the win.
Was this bad officiating or WWE finding another way to bend the rules in Carmella's favor?
