Over the past several weeks, there have been some segments that have been rather confusing to the AEW audience. On AEW Dynamite episodes, Brandi Rhodes and Awesome Kong made their way down to the ring after or during women's matches. They assaulted whoever was in the ring and then Rhodes cut off a lock of their hair.
Awesome Kong then added it to her belt, before leaving the ring.
On tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite fans were finally answered as to the reason why Brandi trimmed the hair off a fan's head.
Brandi Rhodes offers Kris Statlander a spot on The Nightmare Collective
Kris Statlander's match against Hikaru Shida was only her second in AEW, but she proved herself to be quite the convincing competitor as she managed to get a win against Shida.
After the match, she was confronted by Brandi Rhodes and Awesome Kong. Brandi offered her a spot on The Nightmare Collective and said that all she would have to do was to offer up a sacrifice as she could join the Nightmare family.
Brandi revealed that cutting off the hair off of women was a ritual for this faction.
While Statlander did not answer, a fan asked to join the Collective while Statlander left the ring. Brandi accepted the fan's request and then Awesome Kong proceeded to cut off her long hair, before using a trimmer to shorten it even further.
Backstage, it was revealed that her hair was shaved completely.
It remains to be seen what Kris Statlander has to say.
