WWE News: WWE Superstar Suffers Injury at Backlash

Alexa
Alexa Bliss could be out for a while

What's the story?

At WWE Backlash, Nia Jax successfully defended her Raw Women's Championship against Alexa Bliss, leaving the former champion weeping outside of the ring. However, that may not be the only reason for her tears.

In case you didn't know...

Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax have been involved in a heated rivalry which saw the two face off at WrestleMania last month.

After her loss, Bliss rarely appeared in-ring, instead using pre-recorded vignettes to get under her opponent's skin. Bliss missed a tour as well, with the reasoning being that she had some minor cosmetic surgery done after WrestleMania.

Bliss was only supposed to be out of action for a few weeks, but after tonight, she could be away from the ring a bit longer.

The heart of the matter

WWE reported tonight that Alexa Bliss possibly suffered an injury during her bout with Nia Jax at Backlash.

For now, there has been no further announcement in regards to Bliss' condition.

What's next?

While Nia Jax will more than likely move onto her next opponent, whoever that may be, it seems Alexa will be out for at least a few weeks to get her shoulder checked out.

Money In The Bank is coming up, and with little over a month left to prepare, it's assumed that the goal is to have the Goddess ready before then.

Author's take

Bliss' injury comes at a pretty rough time, honestly. While Nia Jax defeated the bully yet again, it seemed like there was a bit more story to tell regarding their feud. Along with the Money In The Bank PPV, which takes place on June 17th, there's a need for the women of Raw and Smackdown to be in top shape.

With one of the WWE's top female athletes possibly out of action for the event, this poses quite a problem for the company.

We at Sportskeeda would like to wish Alexa Bliss a speedy recovery.
