Carmella seems primed to dominate the WWE's blue brand for the foreseeable future

What’s the story?

In an appearance on The Rhode Show, Carmella opened up on a myriad of topics.

Carmella spoke about cashing in her Money In The Bank contract and being the SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Besides, she also addressed the WWE Superstar Shake-Up, her family, and more.

In case you didn’t know…

Carmella is the daughter of former professional wrestler Paul Van Dale.

The 30-year-old SmackDown Live Superstar won the inaugural Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match last year—and it was on the April 10th, 2018 episode of SmackDown Live that she successfully cashed in her contract to defeat Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

The heart of the matter

Carmella recalled winning the Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match and asserted that she’s happy to have not only won the matchup but also about successfully cashing in her contract to win the blue brand’s Women’s title.

Additionally, Carmella elucidated that with the WWE Superstar Shake-Up underway, she’s incredibly alert to any & every possible challenger who could try to dethrone her for the title.

Furthermore, Carmella jested about not being a fighting champion, and possibly ducking challengers.

She also added that her family will be in attendance for tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live—

"Tonight is my first night coming out as the Women's SmackDown Champion…My family will be here tonight, so I'm really excited about that, so I really think it's going to be a fun time."

What’s next?

The Princess of Staten Island recently teased a feud over the SmackDown Women’s title with Asuka--something which could very well play out in the weeks to come on SmackDown Live.

Author’s take

Carmella is perhaps one of the greatest talkers in the professional wrestling industry today.

“’Mella is money”—is a catchphrase that’s often mouthed by the reigning champion, and indeed rings true given how easily she cuts promos and defeats foes inside the squared circle.

The sky is the future for this young woman, and it remains to be seen how high she can ascend in the WWE Universe in the years to come.
