Tonight, the third annual WWE Starrcade event aired live on WWE Network to which All Elite Wrestling EVP Cody Rhodes reacted to the event and posted a heartfelt tweet, talking about the influence his father has had on Pro Wrestling.

It should be noted that WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes conceived Starrcade in 1983.

WWE has revived several WCW events in the past, and Starrcade is the most recent addition to the list. The biggest WCW event of the year, Starrcade was brought back as a SmackDown Live event two years ago.

Tonight's event was a co-branded show featuring Superstars from both RAW and SmackDown Live. Cody Rhodes posted a tweet as a reaction to tonight's event, which can be seen below -

The original Starrcade was produced as an NWA show and was the biggest event of the year for the promotion, much like WWE's WrestleMania. In 1988, Turner Broadcasting bought Jim Crockett Promotions, and Starrcade turned into a WCW event. The final Starrcade was held in 2000, with WCW being bought by Vince McMahon soon after.
