Dakota Kai comments on her shock heel turn at NXT Takeover: WarGames 2019

Dakota Kai shocked the world earlier tonight when she turned on her best friend and former teammate Tegan Nox and almost cost Rhea Ripley's team the match inside the WarGames structure.

Mia Yim was attacked backstage ahead of the match which meant that she was taken to a local medical facility and wasn't able to be part of the show. Dakota Kai was then added to the match by the captain Rhea Ripley and became the third member of the team to be added to the match.

Kai didn't look as though she wanted to be part of the match and was overlooked in favor of Yim a few weeks ago on NXT, so it would make sense if she was the one who took Yim out so that she could set up her plan to turn on Nox.

Dakota looked to be heading into the match to help Ripley and Candice LeRae, but instead, she turned back around and attacked Nox before pushing General Manager William Regal out of the way when he tried to calm her down.

She targetted Nox's injured knee throughout the attack which meant that she couldn't compete in the War Games match and left Ripley's team in a four on two situation when the match officially started. Despite this, Ripley still came out on top by pinning the NXT Women's Champion.

Frustration seemed to be the catalyst for Kai's recent turn and the former member of Team Kick took to Twitter to air her thoughts following the turn.
