2015 was a red letter year for the WWE Divas division. From the introduction of two exciting stables in Team BAD and Team PCB to the crowning of an absorbing new champion in Charlotte, it suffices to say that WWE Creative has something brewing for the Divas division.
And things look to be shaping up interestingly, if 2016’s first episode of Monday Night RAW was any indicator. WWE certainly rang in the new year with a bang, featuring a number of mouth-watering matches, with the lone Divas match being not the least significant amongst them.
The WWE Divas Champion Charlotte looked to kick off 2016 with flair by winning a non-title match against loyal buddy Becky Lynch. A superb contest was capped off by The Nature Boy distracting Lynch to allow Charlotte a roll-up, but the shrewd-as-a-leprechaun Lynch reversed it and stole one with a roll-up of her own.
Daddy Flair’s not-so-uncharacteristic butting in was neutralized by Lynch’s use of Charlotte’s tights to ensure the three-count, but what followed was a shocker.The Divas Champion proceeded to lay out her erstwhile close buddy with a vicious beatdown, while Ric looked on with pride.
