Donald Trump's Top 5 WWE Moments

Donald Trump is a WWE Hall Of Famer

Believe it or not, Donald J. Trump is the 45th President of the United States. The self-acclaimed real-estate tycoon defeated Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton on a wave of populism despite claims of his campaign being based on racism, xenophobia, misogyny and fear of the other.

Despite this, Mr. Trump won the Presidential Election with a near clean sweep of the Electoral College despite losing the popular vote. Mr. Trump will also become the first President of the United States to appear inside a WWE ring.

Trump’s time in the WWE was certainly entertaining and led to some very good television. From his feud with Mr. McMahon to becoming a WWE Hall Of Famer, let’s take a look at Donald Trump’s top 5 moments in the WWE.

5: ‘The Donald’ meets The Boogeyman

Trump met Boogeyman at Wrestlemania 23

It was Wrestlemania 23 and Donald Trump was backstage with former Miss USA Tara Conner. Trump was on the phone and complaining that Vince hadn’t shown him the courtesy of getting him any food or water when The Boogeyman appeared from behind the couch.

Boogeyman freaked the hell out of Tara Conner who ran away almost as soon as WWE’s resident worm-eater arrived. Trump, on the other hand, wasn’t flustered and told Boogeyman that he was hungry and ordered him to get food. Boogeyman continued his shtick before leaving as Trump ended his phone call after saying, “What a place this is, what a total mess.” So Trumpian.

4: Donald Trump buys Raw and then sells it back

Trump ‘sold’ back RAW at a 100% profit

It was the year 2009 and Vince and ‘The Donald’ were at it again. Vince had sold his company’s flagship show Monday Night Raw to Donald Trump in storyline. Trump in his usual Trumpian fashion promised to do things that had never been done before. This included a commercial free episode of Raw and promising fans in attendance for one episode of Raw that he’d reimburse them.

WWE proceeded to release a press release about Trump buying Raw as legit, even though it was a storyline, and mainstream outlets picked up the story which led to WWE’s stock taking a hit. This led to Mr. McMahon buying Raw back for double the price he sold it for, in storyline, which is one of the amazing deals that ‘The Donald’ will probably brag about.

3: Dropping money on the Raw audience

Trump promised to show McMahon what fan appreciation really met

During the build-up to the Battle of the Billionaires, Donald Trump appeared on the Titantron during the January 29, 2007 episode of Monday Night Raw. Mr. McMahon was in the ring announcing fan appreciation night. He thanked the fans for making him a billionaire before promising to give one lucky fan something they’d never forget.

He invited a member of the audience into the ring awarded her what turned out to be a framed poster of a cover of Muscle and Fitness magazine – the issue that had Mr. McMahon on the cover. Following this Donald Trump appeared on the Titantron.

Trump told McMahon that the audience didn’t appreciate him nor the cheesy portrait he was giving out. He followed this by saying that Vince didn’t know what his fans wanted. Trumped followed this up by dropping $10, $20, $50 and $100 bills on the fans to show them his appreciation.

Vince McMahon, upset at being trumped by ‘The Donald, raged and ranted before leaving the arena.

2: Donald Trump and Mr. McMahon’s Battle of the Billionaires contract signing

The two billionaires signed their contract on an episode of Raw

It was the night that Mr. McMahon and Donald Trump finally signed the contract for their Battle of the Billionaires at Wrestlemania 23.

Mr. McMahon came out first and cut a promo saying that this would be one deal that Donald Trump would not be able to get out of. He followed up by announcing his representative at the Battle of the Billionaires – Umaga – where the losing ‘billionaire’ would have his head shaved.

Vince was followed out by Trump, accompanied by Candice Michelle and Maria Kanellis. He told Vince that Umaga would have the hardest time in the ring he’d ever against the person Trump chose as his representative. Trump then revealed his guy to be ECW Champion Bobby Lashley.

Vince then signed the contract before telling Trump that this would be the last contract he’d sign with hair on his head. After Vince had signed the contract, Stone Cold’s music hit and he made his way to the ring.

Stone Cold came in and told Donald Trump that he was in Stone Cold’s ring and not to piss off the Rattlesnake. When he saw Vince laughing, Stone Cold asked Vince if he had a problem with bald people, which also drew a deadly look from Bobby Lashley. He followed this up by warning both billionaires that one of them would get their head shaved at Wrestlemania before walking off.

1: Battle of the Billionaires

Trump shaved Vince McMahon after Lashley beat Umaga

The Wrestlemania 23 match between Vince’s man Umaga and Trump’s man Lashley – dubbed the Battle of the Billionaires – is undoubtedly Donald Trump’s finest hour in the WWE. With the losing Billionaire getting his head shaved, both men wanted to win badly.

Vince tried every dirty trick he knew, including getting his son to act as the referee when the special guest referee Stone Cold Steve Austin got knocked out. At one point, unable to take Vince’s cheating anymore, Donald Trump – who was the babyface – clotheslined Vince outside the ring as the fans in attendance erupted.

The match was eventually won by Lashley – and by definition Trump – after Stone Cold gave Umaga a Stone Cold Stunner which Lashley followed up with a spear.

Shocked and in disbelief, Mr. McMahon tried to run away but Lashley literally picked him up and brought him back into the ring as he, Stone Cold and the now President elect, proceeded to shave Vince’s head.
