The crowd boos once more. Omega basks in the ambiance of all the hatred filling the building. Gallows and Anderson lift Styles up and hit him with the Magic Killer as Kenny stands back and laughs. Then his smile turns into an immediate scowl as he stalks Styles. "Omega lifts him up, and BOOM! One-Winged Angel to the WWE Champion" says Tom Phillips.
Kenny grabs a microphone and starts to speak. "You know, a lot of people said that this wasn't going to happen. A lot of people said it wasn't possible. Well, guess what, I'm here! And I'm coming for this precious little title of yours, Aj. This isn't about Japan, this isn't about the Bullet Club, this is about me capturing the one prize that has eluded me for my entire career! I WILL take the WWE by storm, I WILL get the respect I deserve, I WILL get what I want, and what I want... is the WWE Championship."
Kenny drops the mic, and the three of them celebrate with their Two Sweets high in the sky, leaving Aj laying there helpless and unconscious. This segment closes out the show. The next week General Manager Paige comes out to the ring and says " Unfortunately, the WWE Champion, Aj Styles is not medically cleared to compete until Backlash because of the beating he received last week at the hands of Kenny Omega, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows."
The crowd begins to boo. "However" she continues, "On Aj's behalf, I've come out here to accept the challenge issued out by Kenny Omega last week. So at Backlash, it's going to be Kenny Omega vs Aj Styles for the WWE Championship! The crowd begins to chant "YES! YES! YES!"
The same night, Omega and company waltz down to the ring, gloating and bragging about how they're the best three-man team in the world, how they laid Aj Styles out, and that come to Backlash, You will be looking at a new WWE Champion in Kenny Omega.
Then, "IT'S A NEW DAY YES IT IS!" It's The New Day! They begin to really express themselves, saying that in fact, they were the best three-man team in the world. This leads to a match between the two teams as the main event.
The Club makes quick work of The New Day. While they are worthy contenders, they were just no match for the New Japan style of wrestling. This, of course, leaves Gallows and Anderson looking sharp and it leaves Kenny Omega looking strong ahead of his match with Aj at Backlash.
Fast forward to the PPV, Kenny Omega comes out by himself (to the sound of earth-shattering boos) to prove that he can beat Aj all on his own. Then Aj comes out to the resounding "YES!' chants because this is the first time they've seen him since he was written off of TV.
The bell rings and they stare a hole right through each other as the crowd splits in half, chanting "LET'S GO KENNY! AJ STYLES!". "This is definitely a Wrestlemania calabur match," says Corey Graves.
