5 Reasons  Ronda Rousey vs Nia Jax at Money In The Bank is a bad idea

Nia Jax, Ronda Rousey,
Nia Jax versus Ronda Rousey. Who wins?

WWE announced that Ronda Rousey will be taking on Nia Jax at Money In The Bank and while The WWE Universe seems to be frothing at the mouth over the endless possibilities that could happen in that match, the match is not without its downsides. In fact, the match could hurt The WWE in several ways.

From its bottom line to its fan support, here are five reasons why Ronda Rousey Versus Nia Jax at Money in The Bank isn't best for business, As always, be sure to leave your comments below and let us know what you think of Rousey versus Jax for The Women's title at MITB.

#5 Too soon

Ronda Rousey,
Is it too soon for Ronda Rousey to be in the title picture?

Why WWE would be throwing Ronda Rousey into a championship match at Money in The Bank is hard to answer, but its the timing of the whole thing that makes the least amount of sense. In fact, didn't Rousey say in her debut that she wanted to earn her opportunities in WWE? This doesn't really seem like earning anything.

While it should be noted that WWE had Nia Jax challenge Ronda Rousey during The Upfront NBC Network event, which was an interesting way to allow for Rousey to accept the challenge from the champion, it comes only months after her first match in a WWE ring. Not only that, it comes after a match that she was given a lot of help in.

Of course, that's not to say that Rousey didn't thrive , but she had Kurt Angle, Stephanie McMahon, and Triple H helping her along the way. Whats going to happen when she's one on one with one of the company's newer Superstars and doesn't have anyone guiding her along the way?

#4 No build

Nia Jax, Ronda Rousey,
What is the point of this match?

What happened to WWE's plan to build things up for a while? It made sense from the standpoint that WWE would be able to slowly build towards something with Rousey and maybe reach the main event of WrestleMania in the process, but it seems like WWE is scrapping that for a spur of the moment opportunity.

Maybe this would have been better if Stephanie McMahon was involved in some form or fashion, but it just seems like WWE is wasting a main event match on a B level pay-per-view. Not only that, the story behind the match is a spur of the moment challenge from Jax to Rousey, which seems like lazy storytelling at best.

More on that later, but for now, the problem is that WWE is wasting her first title opportunity on a B level pay-per-view in a storyline that has about as much depth as the kiddy pool. Again, this doesn't mean that WWE couldn't have put her on the pay-per-view, or even given her a title shot in the process, but some better storytelling should have been involved.

#3 Too predictable

Enter capt
Would anyone be surprised if The Authority costs Rousey her title shot?

Let's be honest here.

There are only two possible outcomes to The Ronda Rousey versus Nia Jax match at Money in The Bank and neither fair very well for the company. On one hand, WWE could have Rousey win the title, which would be a departure from the original plan, or go with the overly predictable outcome of The Authority costing her the title to set up a match at Summerslam.

Either way is going to lead to problems for the company, but The Authority costing her the title is probably the worst decision of the two due to the predictability of it. it's honestly something that fans are going to be able to tell right away, especially after her match against The Authority at WrestleMania 34, eliminating the possibility of anything special happening.

With that being said and The WWE Universe hating overly predictable situations, it should come as no surprise that her winning the championship is probably the better option of the two, but has its problems as well. In fact, the biggest problem is what a win for Rousey would do to the future of the women's division.

#2 Hurting Nia Jax's push

Nia Jax,
What would a Ronda Rousey win mean for Ronda Rousey?

One of the biggest problems in this match is what it will do to the career of Nia Jax. While there is always the chance of The Authority costing Rousey the match to set something up for Summerslam, the alternative is to have Rousey destroy someone who just won the title at this year's show of Shows.

Not only does that show that WWE has very little faith in Nia Jax as a draw going forward, which is disheartening due to her excellently crafted body positive storyline, it also marks one of several times the company pushed Jax, but then pumped the brakes shortly after. If nothing else, it's frustrating to watch and makes it difficult to get behind Jax at all.

With that being said, imagine how hard it will be to get behind Jax as any kind of conquering babyface if Rousey destroys her in the same way she destroyed countless opponents in UFC. Not only that, imagine what it will mean for The Women's division if a Brock Lesnar like character nabs the company's biggest title!

#1 Hurting The Women's division and the fans

WWE Universe,
The WWE Universe probably isn't going to be happy about this.

WWE has already faced a lot of backlash for having Brock Lesnar be their part-time Universal Champion for over a year, so just imagine how bad the things will be if they do the same with Rousey. Not only that, imagine how many people in The Women's division will be held back or have their career halted as a result of Rousey being pushed as the Champion.

While there are a lot of people interested in seeing Rousey as the RAW Champion, especially since it will mark the first time in WWE history that a women Superstar has held a UFC title and WWE title at one point in their career, it will probably come at the expense of the entire women's division.

In fact, with Rousey on top of the women's division, its hard to imagine anyone losing to her for quite a long time, which means that up and comers like The Riott Squad, Ember Moon, Bayley, Sasha Banks and even Nia Jax won't be given much time in the spotlight. It also means that The Women's division has a huge possibility of having its first part-time champion.

Unfortunately for The WWE Universe, that means fewer appearances, fewer championship matches and a break from The Women's evolution that has made the division so interesting over the past couple of years. In the end, it really sucks for fans wanting to see full-time stars get the spots they deserve and seems to prove that WWE is more interested in a publicity stunt than anything else.
