While Bobby Lashley defeated Roman Reigns in a barnburner of a match at Extreme Rules, Roman Reigns went on to win their number one contender's match and thus earned the shot to face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. With that being said, this win allowed for Reigns to gain legitimacy of his own for being a former MMA star.

Not only did that win stand as a stepping stone for Reigns finally looking like a legitimate threat to Brock Lesnar in the future, it also set him up to be the company's top guy once he takes down Lesnar. In the end, no one would have the same level of legitimacy as Reigns would have after defeating a guy like Lesnar and will allow him to finally be the company's top guy!
