Randy Orton is a go-to candidate for WWE. A WWE veteran of 16 years, Orton has been there and done that, when it comes to achievements in the company. He recently became a Grand Slam Champion, when he won the United States Title.

Despite all this, no matter how much WWE decides to invest in Orton, the fans are not interested. Over the last few years, there has been a massive decline in interest about Orton. Once one of the top heels of the company, WWE fans would begrudge him holding even a mid-card title.

His style of wrestling, though termed as 'methodical' by the commentators, is slow and universally acknowledged to be boring. His finisher is possibly the most beloved and well known WWE move of all time. The 'RKO out of nowhere' went viral, but a character cannot be based on only one move. His face character seems disinterested and lazy, pushing away any prospective fans.

The same person, when portraying a heelish character changes completely. Orton's character is much more well-suited to a heel character. His manic laugh and grin only added to the persona. Even his last run as a heel, where he pretended to be part of Wyatt's faction, was well received.

Orton as a heel would be perfect, and his slow methodical pace would come across as vicious instead of lazy. This is a turn that the company needs to pull the trigger on soon.
