Does Sami Zayn deserve a shot at Brock Lesnar's Universal Title?

Speaking of Sami Zayn, he is yet another example of WWE taking a championship caliber star at the start of the year and turning him into a complete joke by the midway point. Not only is Zayn floundering in one of the worst storylines of the year, he also has a track record that is less than stellar.

With that being said and Zayn's non-championship body build in mind, these are all things that are going to prevent him from being anywhere near the title picture with Brock Lesnar. In fact, Zayn might be lucky to enter The Universal title picture by the end of the year with how badly he is doing on Monday Night Raw right now.

Maybe WWE can make a turn around with Zayn, but it's going to require the company to get him out of the feud with Lashley as quick as possible. Zayn having any chance in the title picture will also require WWE to pair him up with Kevin Owens again, which seems unlikely after WWE have been moving them towards doing their own thing.

In the end, Zayn can't believably beat Lesnar without some kind of interference and he will need Owens or some other partner in crime to help him do that. WWE could also do a triple threat match scenario for Zayn, Lesnar, and Ownes, which would allow for someone else to walk away with the title and not have Lesnar pinned.
