#3 Big E. Langston

From destroying John Cena on your debut to a comedy act.
Believe it or not, that is the road that Big E Langston has traveled after debuting on the main roster alongside Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee in 2012. Langston originally acted as Ziggler and Lee's body guard for a few months but The WWE had little for Langston to do once Lee and Ziggler called it quits a few months later.
After the breakup, Langston served as Lee's bodyguard and feuded with The Black Widow's ex-boyfriend for a while. Unfortunately for Langston, he was soon dropped from the gimmick and continued his main roster run as a mid-carder. He did have a string of good matches with some of the company's top stars, but they also seemed to use him to make someone else look good.
Whether that was due to his inability to really get the crowd behind him at the time of his debut, or WWE's fondness for pushing other superstars at the time, Langston quickly became an afterthought for a couple years. He then teamed up with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston to form The New Day and go on to win The Tag team title several times.
While that's a pretty good ending for a guy that was floating around the mid-card for much of his career and never really reaching the success that someone of his physique should have, it still is sad to see such a raw talent get discarded in singles competition like Langston ultimately did.
Maybe he was never going to set the world on fire or be the company's top star for any lengthy period of time, but he had raw talent and could destroy an opponent in the ring. In fact, if WWE would have just used the template of his original heel run, they might have at least gotten him into the title picture as a monster heel for a while.
