Finn Balor is everything you just can't have in a top guy.

He has a smallish stature that makes him unbelievable against the giants of The WWE, he isn't all that brilliant on the microphone and he is injury prone. None of this is to say that he isn't a great competitor and very entertaining to watch, especially with his underdog like storyline, but he just doesn't stack up against the main roster.

WWE even tried to give him a chance at the top spot two years ago when they gave him a run with The Universal title, but he got injured during the match and was out until the night after WrestleMania 33. Not only was that a huge blow to Balor's career but it also left WWE officials skeptical about whether they could trust him to stay healthy.

Another thing that makes it hard to believe in Balor is WWE's 50/50 booking style when it comes to The Demon King. Sure, Balor comes away with a win every once in a while and looks amazing when doing it, but there are just too many instances where WWE either outright has him take a loss or win by disqualification.

If nothing else, that proves that Finn Balor's championship hopes are still an afterthought in WWE's mind and that probably isn't going to change anytime soon. Of course, WWE could always throw a Hail Mary if another top guy crashes and burns in the title scene, but it just doesn't look realistic for Balor to defeat monsters like Bruan Strowman, Brock Lesnar or Roman Reigns to win the title.

In the end, it is all these things and more that make Finn Balor a huge disappointment on the main roster. He literally went from one of the most charismatic and popular NXT Champions in the brand's history, to just some underdog mid-carder on Raw that only sometimes is able to hang with the powerhouses.
