Florida enters the race to host WrestleMania 31

WrestleMania 25

The Orlando Business Journal reports that the Central Florida Sports Commission recently got a request from WWE over the prospect of hosting WrestleMania 31 in 2015, or WrestleMania 32 in 2016. The report further adds that the event, if awarded, would take place at the Florida Citrus Bowl, which had the earlier hosted WrestleMania in 2008.

Detroit, Michigan is also in the running to host the event, as it received a request from WWE. The event, if the city gets the hosting rights, would take place at Ford Field, which last hosted WrestleMania 23 in 2007.

Meanwhile, the city of Windsor, Canada, which is about 15 minutes from Detroit, is seeking $60,000-$65,000 for investments if Detroit is able to secure the event. The Windsor benefited about $624,000 from an investment of $60,000 at WrestleMania 23.
