Former wrestler Gene Snitsky blasts WWE for Tensai gimmick

Matt Bloom, better known as Tensai, was introduced last year as a monster heel into WWE. He scored victories over Cena and other top wrestlers and was rising as the next big heel. But slowly, his gimmick fell flat and we could see ‘Albert’ chants all around. WWE found it difficult to overcome this debacle and over time ‘Lord Tensai’ has become what he is today.

Two weeks back on RAW, we saw Tensai in a dance off against Brodus Clay, clad in lingerie. Lingerie? Are you kidding me? Though half the crowd in the arena seemed to enjoy the show, Albert fans across the world were indeed quite disgusted and so was Gene Snitsky.

For those of you who do not know who Snitsky is, he is a wrestler who worked for WWE from 2004 to 2008 and was in the spotlight for a while. In a recent interview with PWTorch, Gene Snitsky said,

“Look at my friend Tensai. They’re turning him and his character into a joke. They have coming out there and doing this goofy s— now…When he first started, he was killing everyone. Before you know it, now he’s doing lingerie segments on Raw. I’m like, “C’mon.” It’s insulting to me as a fan, it’s insulting to my intelligence—a guy who’s 6’8″ and 350 pounds and can probably squash 90 percent of the guys on the roster—and they have him go out and do that. It’s just my opinion.”

Though Matt recently tweeted that all this was part of entertainment, I feel WWE has taken this comic role a little too far.

Hopefully, we will not get to see such horrendous scenes after WrestleMania, especially from Tensai, as I expected him to be a destructive heel upon his return to WWE last year.
