4 people who will be negatively affected by Brock Lesnar's new deal with WWE

Brock Lesnar,
Who will be negatively affected by Brock Lesnar's new contract?

Brock Lesnar successfully defended his Universal Championship against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34 and while a lot of fans are relieved that Reigns didn't get his hands on the red belt, the news comes at the expense of several people in the back and even the fans themselves.

Of course, the fans probably don't know whats best for them in this case, especially since they seem to have a complex between complaining about part-timers and Roman Reigns simply not being able to be the guy, but they need to admit to themselves that Lesnar staying in WWE is not without its collateral damage.

In fact, Brock Lesnar staying in WWE will surely affect people from the top to the bottom of the card and might even give Lesnar more control of WWE in the process. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen and will be discussed later in the slideshow, but here are four people that will be negatively affected by Lesnar staying.

#4 The fans

WWE Universe,
WWE Universe is getting the raw deal with Brock Lesnar as champion.

While The WWE Universe may think they got what they wanted when Brock Lesnar destroyed Roman Reigns in the final moments to win the match, the move comes at the expense of fans that have been desperate to see someone other than a part-time Superstar hold the biggest belt on Raw.

Not only does Lesnar's win at WrestleMania 34 mean that he will be sticking around as Universal champion for a while, it also comes with the news that Lesnar will have about the same amount of dates as he had last year. With that being said, fans basically gave their consent to continue the run of the part-time champion, which fans have hated for years now.

In the end, hopefully, The WWE Universe is happy with their decision and are able to somehow find a silver lining in the dark cloud that will continue to be The Universal title picture, but if they aren't, however, they might want to warm up to the idea of Roman Reigns as champion as a way to make it stop.

#3 The WWE

Vince McMahon,
Did Vince McMahon make a mistake?

Another person that will suffer due to the Brock Lesnar deal is WWE itself. Let's be honest here, Brock Lesnar's new contract is nothing more than a band-aid for The Roman Reigns problem and it puts the company at a huge imposition in the process of it all. In fact, it essentially leaves The WWE under The Beast Incarnate's thumb.

Not only was Lesnar guaranteed a large sum of money, which will be discussed a bit later, he also is scheduled to only appear for a couple of dates including The Greatest Royal Rumble pay per view and Summerslam. It's not known if he will work other dates, but those are the only two confirmed so far.

With that being said and the realization that this contract is indeed a band-aid until Vince McMahon can get Reigns over, it should go without saying that this will have countless negative effects on the company. Those consequences could be anything from lack of money for other resources or holding back other superstars, but those have yet to be determined.

#2 Younger talent

Finn Balor,
The new deal pretty much ensures that superstar's like Balor aren't being groomed for the title picture.

Believe it or not, The WWE Universe has been screaming for the company to put the belt on someone else in the interest of trying to get another talent over, but Lesnar's new contract almost guarantees that won't happen. In fact, Lesnar, who retained the title in a shock victory against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34, might not lose the title until August.

Of course, WWE could always change their mind like they did with Reigns at WrestleMania 34, but it looks like the company now wants Lesnar to hold the title until Summerslam, where he will finally be dethroned by Bobby Lashley. Unfortunately for younger talent hoping to enter the title scene and win the belt, WWE is going to be very particular about who faces Lesnar.

WWE only had Lesnar face Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe and Bruan Strowman during his latest string of title defences, which means that the company seems to only be interested in making big men the guy. With that being said, that eliminates a lot of younger talent and means that they will have to go to Smackdown Live to get a shot at the big title.

Then there's the fact that WWE is also going to want to do a few dream matches with Lesnar, which will probably include Daniel Bryan, Shinsuke Nakamura and another match against Kurt Angle. In the end, that's a pretty freaking long line to wait in to get your shot and Lesnar's contract guarantees that will be the case for quite awhile.

#1 Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns,
How will Roman Reigns be affected by the new deal?

Whether you love Roman Reigns or you hate him, Brock Lesnar's new contract has everything to do with Reigns' inability to be the guy and last minute deals like this will continue until Reigns comes into his own as the face of the company. Unfortunately for Reigns, the company might just give up on him and find someone else instead.

Not only would doing that open the door for stars like Finn Balor, Bruan Strowman, Bray Wyatt, Woken Matt Hardy, Brother Nero and countless others to finally enter The Title picture and finally win, it would also be much better received than anything The WWE could do with Reigns right now.

In the end, Lesnar's contract shows that Vince McMahon's faith in Reigns is slowly eroding and sooner or later he is going to ultimately give up on the former Shield member in favour of someone else. Of course, WWE will probably try a few more times to make Reigns the guy, but if they can't Lesnar will gladly take his place until there is someone else that can.
