What’s the story?

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the latest in a string of several top indie stars to join the WWE is Fred Yehi.

Although Yehi is yet to sign the dotted line with the WWE, his deal with company is expected to be made official in the days to come.

In case you didn’t know…

Fred Yehi is primarily known for his run as a Tag Team Champion in EVOLVE and with the Heavyweight Championship in FIP (Full Impact Pro).

In addition to having worked as a youth counselor as well as backstage executive in BACW Wrestling, Yehi previously competed in WWE losing to TJP in a Cruiserweight Classic qualifying matchup last year.

The heart of the matter

Fred Yehi has been widely appreciated for his top-notch athleticism and wrestling prowess in his work which spans several notable promotions on the independent professional wrestling circuit.

Given the WWE signing a slew of notable indie performers in the recent past, including big names such as Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly, the pro-wrestling community is now abuzz with talk of the WWE absorbing Fred Yehi into its ranks very soon.

What’s next?

Fred Yehi and the WWE are yet to put pen to paper and make his signing official, but are expected to do so over the course of the next few weeks.

Sportskeeda will keep fans updated as and when the promotion and Yehi make the announcements.

Author’s take

For those who aren’t in the know, Fred Yehi is an incredible athlete!

The young prospect would be a great addition to the talent-stacked WWE Cruiserweight roster and could play a great foil to the division’s top stars such as Neville (in the ring) and Enzo Amore (on the mic). Here’s hoping the powers-that-be do the needful and introduce him to the WWE Universe.
