What's the story?
The SmackDown and Raw rosters are now taking shape following the Superstar Shakeup, but it seems that there are still a number of superstars yet to return from injury, including Jason Jordan.
In case you didn't know...
The son of Raw General Manager Kurt Angle hasn't been seen on WWE TV since the beginning of February when he was sent home by his father after he cost Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns the chance to become Raw Tag Team Champions.
This was done as a way to write Jordan off WWE TV so that he could have neck surgery and he has been out of action since, missing WrestleMania as well. Jordan had been struggling with the injury for a number of weeks but WWE was able to creatively keep him out of the ring, but it seems that his need for surgery ruined their plans for him to face his former partner Rollins at WrestleMania.
The heart of the matter
It was reported on The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Jason Jordan was expected to be a part of WrestleMania a few weeks ago, but obviously, he wasn't made a part of the show. This means that it's likely that he will be returning to Monday Night Raw in the coming weeks where he can slot into the mid-card alongside Jinder Mahal.
Chad Gable also made his way over to the Raw roster as part of the Superstar Shakeup and it seems that there is an option now for Jordan to reunite with his American Alpha teammate, but that would mean turning him face on his return.
What's next?
Backlash is just around the corner and the build-up towards it has already begun, so it seems that if Jordan is expected to be part of the first pay-per-view of WWE's new era, then he would have to return in the coming weeks.
Author's take
Big Cass, Jeff Hardy, and Samoa Joe have all returned following injuries in recent weeks and it seems that Jordan and Dean Ambrose are the only main stars left on the sidelines now and it will be interesting when the duo finally return to the newly shaped Monday Night Raw.
Jordan was a decent heel before he was aligned with Seth Rollins earlier this year and it seems that he could revert back to that and even step into a feud with his former teammate Gable if the company wanted to get him over as a heel once again, there are a number of possibilities for him when it comes to a return storyline.
