From the WWE Rumor Mill: WWE officials extremely high on Aleister Black

Black made his debut at NXT earlier this year

What’s the story?

As reported by Cageside Seats, WWE are said to be extremely high on NXT’s newest talent Aleister Black. The recent addition to the roster has been appearing on the weekly programming for a few weeks now after initially debuting at NXT Takeover: Orlando.

In case you didn’t know...

Black has been on WWE’s radar for quite some time now, first making an appearance during the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament up in Blackpool in a bout against Neville.

Following on from that, vignettes began to play of the mysterious superstar on NXT, with his debut bout against Andrade “Cien” Almas coming during WrestleMania week at the Amway Center.

The heart of the matter

The report suggests that WWE officials are extremely happy with the work Black has been doing thus far, and that his stay down in NXT may not last much longer. It wouldn’t be all too surprising given that he’s already been performing on live shows for Monday Night Raw, with Black being used for the European Tour in order to try and boost ticket sales.

What’s next?

Black will continue to carve a path for himself down in NXT, with his first few matches being met with a lot of positive feedback from fans and management alike.

It’s not yet known how long he’ll be in the developmental brand, however, given his popularity there’s every chance that he’ll be thrust into the NXT Championship picture in the aftermath of Takeover: Chicago.

Author’s Take

It’s great to hear that the company can see the star power Black has, but we’d like to see him stay down in NXT for at least the next six months. At the age of 31, he’s got a long career still ahead of him, and right now, team yellow could use all the help they can get.
