Roman could be set to play an integral part in Survivor Series
Roman could be set to play an integral part at Survivor Series

What's the story?

It was previously speculated that Roman Reigns may not be returning to WWE until Survivor Series, but reports today now suggest that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion could be returning to the company sooner than expected.

In case you didn't know...

Roman Reigns was forced to miss TLC: Tables Ladders and Chairs almost two weeks ago when it was revealed that he was suffering from a viral infection that was believed to have been mumps (meningitis). Reigns was then replaced by Kurt Angle who helped his team to snag the victory, but The Shield reunion has been on hold ever since.

Since the build-up to Survivor Series began last week, there hasn't been a mention of Reigns on Raw, despite the fact that Bo Dallas was reported to have been struggling with the same illness and was able to return to Monday Night Raw last night.

The heart of the matter

WrestlingVotes are now reporting that Roman Reigns is scheduled to make his Raw return as part of the go-home who ahead of Survivor Series on 13th of November which is less than two weeks away.

WrestlingVotes have a good reputation for confirming a number of backstage stories concerning WWE in recent months, so it seems that 'The Big Dog' could well be set to return to WWE just in time to confirm his place as part of the Raw roster's final pay-per-view event of the year.

Whats next?

It is unknown what role Roman Reigns will play at Survivor Series since his Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are scheduled to be part of a match against SmackDown Tag Team Champions Jimmy and Jey Uso. It will be interesting to see where Roman is able to slot into the show or if he is the final member of Team Raw that will now reportedly be captained by Kurt Angle.

Authors Take

There were a number of returns last night on Monday Night Raw as the red brand begins to build up their ranks ahead of their showdown with SmackDown in just under three weeks time. Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt are still noticeable absentees, but it seems that Raw want to ensure Roman is back in time for Survivor Series, which means that hopefully Bray Wyatt and his Sister Abigail can't be far behind.
