From the WWE rumor mill: Historic Hell in a Cell match in the works

What's the story?

"Hell In A Cell" has become one of the de facto match stipulations in WWE when it comes to wrapping up a feud. Over the years, we've seen one-on-one battles for both pride and titles take place in the structure, as well as multi-participant matches and tag team matches.

Just last year, we saw Charlotte and Sasha Banks in the first ever HIAC match featuring female competitors. Now, it looks like we'll have yet another first soon - a tag team title match.

In case you didn't know....

This isn't the first time tag teams have competed in the Hell In a Cell structure. Both previous matches involved D-Generation X - the first being against The Big Show, and Vince & Shane McMahon (at Unforgiven in 2006) and the second being against Legacy (Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase) at Hell In A Cell 2009.

The heart of the matter

It seems that during this year's PPV, WWE is intending on having The New Day defend their Smackdown Tag Team Championships inside the Cell.

At least, according to ProWrestlingSheet.com's Ryan Satin. Considering that WWE seems to be intent on having The New Day break all sorts of tag team records, having them in the first Tag Team Championship match in the Cell seems like a no-brainer.

What's next?

Regardless of what WWE wants, a lot of this depends on the health of the competitors. Just recently, Kofi Kingston apparently has an injury, although details are currently scarce on that so far.

If he's not injured, a HIAC tag title match would be a very good draw.

Author's take

Assuming everyone involved is medically cleared for this match - and assuming it happens - where does the third member of New Day position themselves for this match?

Does he get to hang out inside the cage (in which case, do the Usos get to bring backup, too?) or does he hang out outside of the cage? Or not even at ringside at all? I guess we'll find out the answer in the next week or so to all of these questions.
