What’s the story?

On a recent edition of The Observer, it was revealed that Rey Mysterio isn’t likely to return to the WWE anytime soon.

In contrast to the recent banter of Mysterio potentially returning to the WWE, it was asserted that there have been no discussions regarding his promotional-comeback.

In case you didn’t know…

Rey Mysterio, whose real name is Oscar Gutierrez, is a veteran of several notable professional wrestling promotions including WCW, AAA, ECW and Lucha Underground to name a few.

The Ultimate Underdog is a former WWE Champion and World Heavyweight titlist, who competed in the WWE from 2002 to ‘15.

The heart of the matter

Multiple professional wrestling experts have been speculating about Rey Mysterio possibly returning to the WWE in the days to come, however, both the latter as well as the WWE have neither confirmed nor denied any such talk.

It was noted by The Observer, there are no current plans as regards Mysterio making a WWE comeback.

Furthermore, it was also explained that there are no ongoing talks which could change the aforementioned plans.

What’s next?

Rey Mysterio presently competes on the independent professional wrestling circuit. The 43-year-old legendary Luchador has stated in multiple interviews since his 2015 departure from WWE that he won’t rule out a return to the promotion in the future.

Before there was Daniel Bryan and the ‘Yes! Movement’, the WWE Universe had perhaps one of the most determined underdogs in Rey Mysterio.

Besides, the 619 expert is also grooming his son for a career in the sport of professional wrestling and competes till date in various promotions including AAA and Lucha Underground. Mysterio gave the WWE Universe many great memories and should he choose to return to the WWE, he’d most definitely be welcomed with open arms by the WWE Universe.
