What's the story?

Brad Shepard has reported via BodySlam.net that Bobby Lashley and WWE have agreed to a deal that will see the former WWE wrestler return to the company following his recent Impact Wrestling departure.

In case you didn't know...

Bobby Lashley has enjoyed a dominant spell for Impact Wrestling but left the company following their tapings earlier this year as part of mini talent exodus caused by a restructuring of the company, and a move from the US to Canada.

Before that Bobby Lashley had a prominent WWE run, capturing the ECW title twice and the United States title once. He also featured in a high-profile feud with Umaga as part of an ongoing storyline involving Donald Trump and Vince McMahon.

The heart of the matter

Whilst a return to the WWE seems to have been on the cards for Bobby Lashley ever since his departure from Impact nothing seems to have been confirmed between the two parties until now.

Clearly, Brad Shepard, who has a fairly reliable history when it comes to breaking news (He broke the Vince McMahon XFL news) has gotten wind that a deal between Lashley and WWE has been agreed, although he is admittedly a little scarce on the details.

A source has indicated to BodySlam.net Managing Editor Brad Shepard that Bobby Lashley has agreed to terms with WWE.

What's next?

The timing of Brad's report may lead some to believe that Lashley could appear during the Elimination Chamber, although a previous tweet from Brad suggested he'd been sat on the news for a while, so I don't think we should read too much into it, although it is definitely a possibility.

Author's take

We don't know when he'll debut, what he'll do when he does, but one thing we can be sure of is that Bobby Lashley being back in WWE will be a great thing.
