What's the story?

There has been much speculation with regard to Braun Strowman's WrestleMania 34 opponent. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Cageside Seats have provided some clarity with regard to the said situation.

Dave Meltzer believes that Braun Strowman will clash with The Miz on the grandest WWE stage. This big WrestleMania 34 match will be for the Intercontinental Championship.

In case you didn't know...

Braun Strowman and The Miz were the two final men in the Gauntlet match, this past week on RAW. While The Miz defeated Finn Balor, one of the men in the Elimination Chamber match this weekend, he was destroyed by Strowman who won the Gauntlet match.

The two men are set to collide yet again in the Elimination Chamber match this weekend, with five other men. These men are John Cena, Finn Balor, Elias, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

The heart of the matter

It is clear that the events of the Elimination Chamber will somehow cause Braun Strowman and The Miz to embark on a feud of their own. With Roman Reigns expected to win the Elimination Chamber match, there's no way that either The Miz or Strowman will be a part of the Universal Title picture at WrestleMania.

While the contest does seem mismatched because of the size disparity between Braun Strowman and The Miz, the presence of the Miztourage could probably balance the odds in the favour of the A-Lister. The contest should definitely elevate the mid-card championship.

Author's take

I'm not really excited about a feud between The Miz and Braun Strowman. I like both guys, but I've seen Strowman destroy The Miztourage on his own far too many times, to think of this contest as a competitive match.

I'd honestly have preferred to see someone like Finn Balor tango with The Miz, and maybe Strowman and Samoa Joe.
