From the WWE Rumor Mill: Charlotte Flair set for Total Divas?

Is Total Divas set for a dose of royalty?

What’s the story?

According to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, WWE superstar and former Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair could be on the verge of joining the Total Divas cast. The sixth season of the hit E! Network show wrapped up with Nikki Bella’s return at SummerSlam.

In case you didn’t know...

Eva Marie has been all but confirmed not to be returning for the seventh season of Total Divas after being on the show since its initial run. This has led to widespread suspicion that she is set to be released from WWE altogether, especially when you consider that she hasn’t been featured on SmackDown Live in months. As such, the company have been looking for her TD replacement.

The heart of the matter

Charlotte is one of the females on the roster who has been interviewed in regards to joining the cast for the upcoming season. Several other names have reportedly been interviewed as well, with Paige’s status for next season being unknown at this time. The Bellas, Naomi and Natalya have all been confirmed to return; however, there has been no official word on the other divas.

What’s next?

Over the next few weeks we’ll likely hear more and more about the casting for the show, and given the volume of superstars, WWE has at their disposal right now, seeing Charlotte added to the mix wouldn’t be all too surprising. Fans of the show can look forward to the second season of Total Bellas, which is set to return to our screens in the fall.

Author’s take

A lot of fans will probably choose to get annoyed at this, mainly because they don’t see Charlotte as a diva. That is understandable to a degree, but the show is based around seeing how these women act in their day to day lives as opposed to stereotyping them for being on the show. With that being said, we still aren’t sure whether or not Flair would be a good fit – so time will tell.
