From the WWE Rumor Mill: Cruiserweight Tag Team Championships belt design revealed?
What's the story?
After news broke in the past few days that WWE could be introducing new Championships to 205 Live after WrestleMania, the internet has been abuzz with rumours of what the new belts may look like.
Well, it looks like the design of the new WWE Cruiserweight Tag Team Championships may just have slipped out...
In case you didn't know...
According to PWInsider.com, there are plans in the works to create a Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship for the 205 Live brand, signalling a positive future for 205 Live after a product overhaul since Triple H took the over.
The show has had a much-improved structure recently, with the athleticism and in-ring action being given a greater platform with character development pushing through too.
Well, an image of the belts made its way online earlier, as you'd expect, but it seems that the image wasn't a mock-up, with wrestling championship belt and custom belt creator Leather By Dan taking to Twitter to announce that sources believe it to be real.
There is word yet on when we may see the new titles, but the template looks incredibly realistic. You would have to wonder what colour the strap may be though...
I guess we'll find out soon enough.
I'm absolutely over the moon that we're getting the new titles, but even better that they look like a slick, classic design and even relate to the singles Cruiserweight Championship.
If the rumours are all true, this is very exciting news.
I'm always suspicious when images of title belts appear online because so many people can make a convincing mock-up on Photoshop, but Leather by Dan is a belt enthusiast and has advertised on Gorilla Position - a podcast affiliated with Sky Sports, TalkSport and WWE themselves - and thus I'd have no reason not to believe him.
One look at his Twitter, and you'll see just how much this man knows about titles too. Here's hoping it's true because these belts look pretty sweet, whether the strap be black, purple or other!
