From the WWE Rumor Mill: Diamond Dallas Page to return to Monday Night Raw this week
What’s the story?
PWInsider notes that WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page could make a return to Monday Night Raw this week. The report further states that the role that DDP is set to play is not clear.
In case you did not know…
One of the most iconic names in the wrestling business, DDP started his in-ring wrestling career in 1989. While he started in American Wrestling Association and Professional Wrestling Federation, it was WCW that gave him the big break.
DDP was a three-time WCW World Heavyweight champion and had also captured the Television, US and Tag Team championships.
DDP then spent some years in WWE and TNA but could not replicate the success that he found in WCW. Apart from his wrestling career, DDP is also a fitness instructor and a motivational speaker.
The heart of the matter
As per the rumors, Diamond Dallas Page will be returning to Monday Night Raw this week. The upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw will be held at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on February 19, 2018.
DDP was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame last year and if the rumor does turn out to be true, his appearance could end up making headlines for WWE.
At the RAW show, WWE is expected to make final storyline developments for the RAW roster ahead of the upcoming pay-per-view Elimination Chamber.
Elimination Chamber is scheduled to take place on 25 February 2018.
An appearance by legendary names like DDP is always welcomed with enthusiasm by the WWE Universe. But at the same time, if WWE does not handle the appearance properly, they are bound to get criticism from the fans due to the sheer popularity of DDP.
