From The WWE Rumor Mill: Evolve Wrestling promoter Gabe Sapolsky is on the verge of signing with WWE
This could be another massive step in the relationship between WWE and WWN.
What’s the story?
PWInsider has recently reported that Evolve Wrestling’s promoter and creative writer Gabe Sapolsky could be on the verge of signing a full-time contract with WWE that would see him work for the WWE as a consultant.
In case you didn’t know…
Gabe Sapolsky is currently working under the WWE banner as part of a working relationship between WWE and WWN. Sapolsky has been working alongside Triple H and has been specifically helping out backstage during WWE NXT tapings.
The 45-year-old is currently the vice-president of talent relations, creative and marketing of the World Wrestling Network (WWN) and has also previously worked as the assistant of Paul Heyman during their ECW days. Sapolsky was also the former booker of Ring of Honor and is currently also the vice-president of Dragon Gate USA.
The heart of the matter
PWInsider believes that Gabe Sapolsky is currently on the verge of signing a deal with the WWE, however, despite signing a contract with WWE, Sapolsky is expected to retain his positions with WWN and Evolve Wrestling. Sapolsky’s new contract is evidently being seen as the next step in this growing relationship between WWN and WWE.
NXT’s senior producer Triple H also spoke about Gabe Sapolsky in a conference call back in the summer of 2017, during which The Game stated that he is a fond of Gabe Sapolsky and likes what he does. Hunter considers the former ROH booker as one of the smartest guys, who is capable of helping the talent to get going in their careers and Triple H believes that it is good for everybody, that someone, as experienced as Sapolsky, is around NXT.
It's an opportunity. When I have an opportunity for him to be around us and learn from us and I can bring him in and see how his mind works, it's good for everybody.
Triple H said this in a conference call sometime last year.
As noted earlier, Gabe Sapolsky signing with the WWE is just another step in the growing relationship between the WWE and WWN and it could potentially mean that we could witness a talent exchange on a regular basis between WWE and Evolve Wrestling.
I believe Gabe Sapolsky’s massive experience in the wrestling world is definitely going to help all the superstars and officials who are currently working under NXT.
