What’s the story?

According to a recent report by Fightful.com, former Impact Knockouts Champion Laurel Van Ness aka Chelsea Green is expected to sign with WWE in 2018.

In case you didn’t know…

Laurel Van Ness won her first major championship in Impact Wrestling during last November, when the 26-year-old captured her first ever Knockouts Championship by defeating Rosemary.

Van Ness had also previously worked with WWE when she appeared on an episode of Raw and played a character called Megan Miller who portrayed Daniel Bryan’s on-screen physiotherapist. In 2015, Chelsea Green reappeared in WWE—this time under her real name—as she entered the sixth season of WWE’s reality TV series Tough Enough.

The heart of the matter

Chelsea Green recently confirmed her departure from Impact Wrestling, after she dropped the Knockouts Title to Allie during Impact’s latest set of tapings. Green, who is known for playing a fun and psychotic character on TV, apparently asked for her release from Impact Wrestling back in November of 2017.

Following her departure, Chelsea decided to show her gratitude towards Impact Wrestling as she thanked the company for giving her the opportunity to shine on a bright stage.

However, recent reports from Fightful.com have suggested that WWE has been really impressed with Van Ness’s work rate with Impact Wrestling throughout 2017 and there is now a strong possibility that the former Combat Tag Team Champion will sign with the world’s biggest wrestling promotion later this year.

What’s next?

With the historic Women’s Royal Rumble match coming up on the 28th of January, the WWE Universe could certainly witness the Maniacal Bride make her debut for WWE and enter the historic women’s Royal Rumble match at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly, later this month.

Author’s take

Van Ness is now the third biggest name to depart from Impact Wrestling within the month of January, as the 26-year-old now joins Ethan Carter III and Bobby Lashley—who are both expected to make their re-debuts with WWE in 2018 itself.

Also, Chelsea Green is also in a relationship with current SmackDown Live star Zack Ryder which could possibly be an indication towards the fact that the former Knockouts Champ could sign with Vince McMahon’s promotion.
