From the WWE Rumor Mill: Jeff Hardy might not work another match until WrestleMania 34
What's the story?
According to a report from Cageside Seats, Jeff Hardy may not wrestle until the thirty-fourth Showcase of the Immortals.
In case you didn't know...
Speculation about the extent of Jeff Hardy's shoulder injury began after he was unable to perform at WWE Live Event in Sacramento on September 22, 2017. Just hours before the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE.com confirmed that the former TNA standout had suffered a torn rotator cuff which would require surgery. Here is Hardy's statement on the injury:
"It’s depressing. More than any time in a career, it’s those times that make you go, ‘Wow, I love professional wrestling.’ It sucks that I can’t be involved in [a] match or can’t get in there and do what I normally do because I’m injured, but I just have to get over that, stop worrying about it and look forward and push myself to get repaired and healed and come back better than ever with a brand-new shoulder."
The heart of the matter
Sheamus and Cesaro both suffered similar injuries recently and they were out for between four to six months. This roughly means that Jeff Hardy could be back for WrestleMania 34.
The report from Cageside Seats also cites a story from the Wrestling Observer which claims that the younger Hardy brother is dealing with knee problems in addition to his shoulder injury, so the rehabilitation process might be trickier than initially expected.
Jeff Hardy will undergo surgery next week, meaning that we should have a clearer timetable for recovery based on the success of the procedure.
There have been several reports suggesting that GFW/Impact Wrestling is having financial difficulties, so there may be a glimmer of hope for Jeff Hardy to return as Broken Brother Nero.
