Gargano and Ciampa could finally collide at the next NXT Takeover

What’s the story?

During the latest instalment of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE is still likely to be moving forward with to a showdown between Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa at the next NXT Takeover event which takes place in New Orleans during Wrestlemania 34 weekend.

In case you didn’t know…

Following Johnny Gargano’s recent loss to Andrade “Cien” Almas at NXT Takeover: Philadelphia, Gargano was brutally attacked by his former #DIY tag team partner Tommaso Ciampa who blindsided Gargano and attacked him with a crutch.

The heart of the matter

During the latest set of NXT Tapings, Johnny Gargano and Andrade “Cien” Almas collided once again for the NXT Championship in a “loser leaves NXT” match. Much like Philadelphia, Gargano ultimately lost the match thanks to interference from Tommaso Ciampa who blasted his former tag team partner with his crutches once again and cost him the match and the NXT Title in the process.

According to Dave Meltzer on the latest instalment of The Observer, the NXT management are still on course to book a final showdown between Gargano and Ciampa at NXT Takeover: New Orleans during WM 34 week. As reported by Meltzer, Gargano and Ciampa will collide in a non-sanction match at the show before Gargano eventually heads to the main roster.

What’s next?

Once this feud between Gargano and Ciampa eventually comes to an end, it is likely that Gargano will be joining the 205 Live roster and begin his journey on the main-roster once he is officially called up.

Author’s Take

There can be no better ending than one last showdown between Gargano and Ciampa at an NXT Takeover event and there is absolutely no doubt that the non-sanction match between the former #DIY partners will indeed be a breathtaking match.
