It's no secret at this point that AJ Styles has been carrying a knock for the last couple of weeks. AJ missed a string of house shows until making his return last Saturday where he teamed up with The New Day. Styles was only in action for the last couple of minutes of that match.

In case you didn't know...

WWE did an angle at the MSG house show on the 16th where AJ Styles was stretchered to the back after Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens attacked him with steel chairs. Although Styles appeared later to save Shinsuke Nakamura, he missed house shows for the rest of that week.

Styles returned last Saturday at the Live Event in Trenton, even though he wrestled for the last 2 minutes of the tag-team match he was involved in.

The heart of the matter

Dave Meltzer revealed a little more about Styles' injury on the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer. He said that while WWE were quiet about the injury, it was most likely an MCL injury.

Regardless of the injury, Meltzer also added that there was no danger of AJ missing WrestleMania.

It's a relief that AJ Styles' injury is a minor one. Styes vs Nakamura at 'Mania should be one of the best matches of the night.
