From the WWE Rumor Mill: More details revealed about WWE Women’s Tournament, WWE interested in two former TNA stars?

More details regarding the upcoming Women’s tournament has been revealed

What’s the story?

As reported by Wrestling Inc, more details have supposedly been revealed regarding the upcoming WWE Women’s Tournament. The competition will take place this summer, in the same kind of format as last year’s overwhelmingly successful Cruiserweight Classic.

In case you didn’t know...

The WWE Women’s Tournament has been rumoured for well over six months now ever since the dust settled on the success of the Cruiserweights. It was officially announced during WrestleMania 33 week with a number of current female Superstars present for the revelation, and since then we’ve slowly been learning more and more about the upcoming event.

The heart of the matter

WWE officials are said to be extremely interested in scouting the SHIMMER promotion for the 32-competitor tournament. Two of the rumoured talents that they’re after includes former TNA Knockouts Jade and Marti Bell, with a grand total of 17 nations set to be represented at the big event.

Superstars including Evie and Nixon Newell have supposedly already signed deals to compete.

What’s next?

As the weeks and months go on we’ll discover more and more about the tournament. If it’s anything like the Cruiserweight Classic then there’s every chance that WWE could uncover some future stars for both the Raw and SmackDown Live women’s divisions.

Author’s take

It’s great to hear the names of some extremely talented women being thrown around, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the competition unfolds. It’s likely going to be different when compared to the CWC, in terms of how the matches go, and because of that, we could be in for some more storyline-based work which would certainly be interesting.

One thing’s for sure, we’ll definitely be watching to see how things go over the summer.
