From The WWE Rumor Mill: Possible reason behind TJP and Gran Metalik's absense
What's the story?
According to PWInsider, WWE has decided to write off two of the top Cruiserweight stars in TJP and Gran Metalik from live TV because the WWE creative team currently don't seem to have any sort of plans for the two Cruiserweight Classic finalists and are lacking storyline ideas for the Filipino and the Mexican star.
In case you didn't know...
Both TJP and Gran Metalik had an outstanding start to their WWE careers, which kicked off via the Cruiserweight Classic in 2016.
The former CMLL star [Metalik] and TJP, who came up through the ranks of Impact Wrestling, made it to the finals of the inaugural CWC and wrestled each other to an outstanding match, however, eventually it was Perkins who came out on top and was crowned as the new Cruiserweight Champion.
Both TJP and Metalik are not only the two most talented performers in the renowned Cruiserweight division but are also two of the best agile wrestlers in the current WWE roster altogether.
The heart of the matter
PWInsider has reported that the reason why both TJ Perkins and Gran Metalik have been not been seen on TV in recent weeks is that the WWE creative team currently don't seem to have any sort of storylines for the two 205 Live stars.
Additionally, the report also stated that none of the two stars are injured and neither one of them seemed to be ring rust, but, rather it's a case of WWE not having any sort of storylines to offer to TJP and Metalik.
WWE has also decided to keep both men back home, rather than spending unnecessary money on the two cruiserweights by flying them around during WWE's live tours. However, both Perkins and Metalik will make their return to WWE 205 Live as soon as the creative decides to bring them back into the mix and come up with an interesting storyline.
TJP and Metalik currently find themselves in a really depressing situation, both creative and storyline wise.
Both men are two of the best high-flying performers in the WWE roster today, however, the best the WWE Universe can hope from here on is for the creative team to come up with a fascinating angle for the masked luchador and the first ever new Cruiserweight Champion, that is TJ Perkins.
Both Perkins and Metalik have already proved that they are indeed amongst the best Cruiserweights in the current WWE CW division. The two men put on some of the most clinical performances in the CWC last year and I truly hope that the WWE Creative Team comes up with an interesting storyline for the 33-year-old [TJ Perkins] and the 29-year-old [Gran Metalik].
