From the WWE Rumor Mill: Real reason why Kane made his return to RAW revealed

WWE may have a storyline in place, for the returning Kane!
WWE may have a storyline in place, for the returning Kane!

What's the story?

Roman Reigns took on Braun Strowman in a steel cage match on RAW this week. During the course of the match, Kane made a huge reappearance and aligned himself with the heels ahead of the main event at TLC.

Wrestling Inc. speculates that Kane made his reappearance to avenge the loss that The Undertaker suffered at the hands of Reigns. Yet another theory says that his reappearance is the stage to set up The Undertaker's big return.

In case you didn't know...

Kane has not been seen on SmackDown Live TV since November, and the last we heard from him he was running for mayor of Knox County. He appeared as only he can, from under the ring, and delivered a chokeslam and a tombstone to Roman Reigns.

What is a SmackDown Live superstar doing on RAW, seemingly having turned heel?

The heart of the matter

Roman Reigns defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33, leading to the second ever loss for "The Deadman", across his career, at "The Showcase of the Immortals". The Undertaker seemingly retired from the ring at that point, although many reports have emerged since then about a potential comeback.

Kane, the kayfabe brother of The Undertaker, may have returned to exact revenge from Reigns, considering the latter said that it was his 'yard' now.

The site also speculates that The Undertaker may return at Survivor Series, and align himself with The Shield. Survivor Series is where The Undertaker made his debut!

What's next?

TLC will see the reunited Shield take on a rather odd but formidable lineup of opponents consisting of Cesaro, Sheamus, Braun Strowman, The Miz and Kane. It is, of course, a TLC match, like the name suggests.

Author's take

Yes, Kane's return, when seen in isolation, makes no sense. I'm certain that there's a greater storyline at play right now, that will play out over the coming few months. Whether or not that involves The Undertaker, remains to be seen for now.
