From the WWE Rumor Mill: Sasha Banks' WrestleMania 34 opponent revealed

The Boss and The Hugger will cross paths!
The Boss and The Hugger will cross paths!

What's the story?

No, according to the rumours, Sasha Banks will not be getting a title shot at WrestleMania 34 against the RAW Women's Champion, Alexa Bliss. Instead, we believe that she is on a warpath with none other than the deliverer of hugs- Bayley.

This was first reported by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, but we thank SEScoops for the heads up. We're certain that NXT fans will be super excited to see this match take place.

In case you didn't know...

Sasha Banks put Women's Wrestling on the map as one of the four Horsewomen of WWE. Right from the time when they were in NXT, Banks, Bayley, Becky Lynch and SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair have revolutionized women's wrestling.

Banks is still a major player in the RAW Women's Division, but she has assumed more of a workhorse role whereas Alexa Bliss reigns on top as the resident Goddess. One must not forget that she put on two classics with Bayley, during her time in the NXT Women's Division.

The heart of the matter

According to Meltzer, while the Sasha Banks and Bayley feud has been simmering for a while with frequent teases over many months, it will finally come to a head when WrestleMania 34 comes around.

It is not known whether Alexa Bliss will face Asuka, as it seems right now, or indeed Nia Jax, as the rumors indicate, but Banks and Bayley will be in a non-title match, according to reports.

Considering the brief altercation between Banks and Bayley at Elimination Chamber, and the fact that Bayley refused to tag Banks in, this past week on RAW, the rumor sounds like a possibility.

It is not known if either of the women will go heel, before their blood feud does commence.

What's next?

The coming weeks will tell subsequent chapters of the Sasha Banks and Bayley story, until one of them turns, we suppose.

Author's take

I've been advocating for a Sasha Banks vs. Bayley feud for a while now. The two women created magic in NXT, and they can continue to do so in the main roster.

What better stage for a match between the two than at WrestleMania 34, the showcase of the immortals.
