What’s the Story?

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported some possible spoilers for this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw which could include a segment with one of Raw’s Champions, a potential match for Braun Strowman and an impromptu championship match.

In Case You Didn’t Know...

This week’s episode of Raw comes off the heels of the No Mercy and will more than likely spend the night focusing on the fallout from the pay-per-view and laying the foundation for the TLC pay-per-view in October.

The biggest points of interest from No Mercy were Enzo Amore winning the Cruiserweight Championship, Cesaro’s dental injuries, Roman Reigns defeating John Cena, and Brock Lesnar retaining the Universal Championship against Braun Strowman.

The Heart of the Matter

The biggest news coming from PWInsider’s report suggests that the MizTV segment with is expected to lead to an Intercontinental Championship match later on in the night. Whether The Miz’s opponent will be Reigns or Jason Jordan remains to be seen.

Also in their report was news on a potential match between Strowman and Seth Rollins. As far as his next feud, it's highly unlikely to be against Rollins and this match could more than likely be a one and done scenario if it takes place.

Enzo Amore is expected to have a segment regarding his newly won Cruiserweight Championship. The other wrestlers in the division were mostly negative about his latest victory, but whether that’ll be worked into Amore’s rumoured segment remains to be seen.

Lastly, Nia Jax is expected to take on Bayley in singles competition.

All of the individuals mentioned in the report are referenced in the Raw preview on WWE’s website, but there’s been no direct announcement regarding any match or segment other than MizTV.

What’s Next?

James McKenna of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that the WWE was pushing for a reunion of The Shield at the TLC pay-per-view. With The Miz’s comments regarding Reigns' former buddies in mind, it seems this potential Intercontinental Championship match may be the catalyst.

There’s a chance that The Miztourage will be the team that could oppose The Shield if the stable reunites for a match at TLC.

Everything else reported by PWInsider seems like business as usual for Raw following a pay-per-view.

Author’s Take

If the company really is facing a lack of direction regarding Strowman, then it is an even greater travesty that he lost so anticlimactically to Lesnar at No Mercy.

As far as the rumoured Intercontinental Championship match goes, if Reigns is booked for the match could end via a disqualification and could lead to appearances from Ambrose and Rollins...
