The WWE recently confirmed that 25 November would be the date for the return of Starrcade.

However, there have been doubts about whether the event would be televised and according to Cageside Seats, Starrcade would not even be streamed and will remain a house show.

In case you didn't know...

Starrcade is considered as the WCW equivalent of WrestleMania and the return of the event would be the first time since the WWE bought WCW.

The event would take place at Greensboro, North Carolina on Thanksgiving weekend, which has been a tradition since the inception of Starrcade.

The heart of the matter

Cageside Seats posted the rumour which claimed that the event would neither be televised or streamed but would be for that market.

That might seem a bit of a downer but the event takes place just a few days after but the event will feature a number of current and former stars, such as “The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express”.

What's next?

Starrcade is certainly a big event and will bring back a ton of memories for WCW fans. There are a few stories that can be deduced by the event card which states that Jinder Mahal will go into the event as champion.

AJ Styles, Natalya and The New Day are also set to go into Starrcade as champions.

Author's take

The WWE hasn’t really done much with the WCW brands they purchased earlier but this decision to bring back Starrcade might be a good one. Apart from the nostalgia surrounding the event, the possibility of seeing some other stars who aren’t part of the WWE could be a huge selling point.

Not televising or streaming the event would be a poor call from the promotion as there are many who would want to witness Starrcade after almost a gap of 17 years.

Televising the event could be one way the WWE gets some viewers after their sliding viewership figures and hopefully, the event will turn out to be a great one for fans and the wrestlers.
