From the WWE Rumor Mill: The reason why Iconic Duo haven't been active recently
What's the story?
Peyton Royce and Billie Kay have sort of disappeared recently. Many people expected them to show up at the WWE Royal Rumble, but as we now know that definitely didn't happen. So where have they been? Dave Meltzer has covered this on the recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
In case you didn't know...
Peyton Royce hasn't been seen since November 29th, 2017 when she lost singles match against Ember Moon for the NXT Women's Title. Before that, she also took part in a losing effort at NXT TakeOver: WarGames in a Fatal Fourway match for the vacated Women's Title.
The heart of the matter
Dave Meltzer covered the whereabouts of Billie and Peyton on his latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggesting that nothing was wrong and that they had been training at the Performance Center the whole time they've been off of television.
For those asking about Peyton Royce & Billie Kay, they are both training and aren’t injured. They just don’t have a story for them right now to push on television
So there you have it, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce aren't injured and have been training as usual. It seems WWE NXT creative has nothing for them so they've just been kept off of television.
That being said, Casey Michael from Squared Circle Sirens seems to disagree with what Meltzer says in his latest tweet, suggesting that the wrestling journalist is 'blind and has no NXT sources'. Could there be another reason why the Iconic Duo haven't been on television for two months?
With many feeling the main roster call-up is the logical next step in the progression of The Iconic Duo, we'll have to see if they feature in the next round of NXT tapings that are due to take place over the next couple of days.
Whatever the reason for Peyton and Billie's absence, I hope they're back soon, on NXT or the main roster.
