From the WWE Rumor Mill: The Undertaker to wrestle multiple times this year

What's the story?

There is a report going round that the WWE hope that The Undertaker is willing to wrestle more frequently this year, given the shape that he's in. The expectation is that he could wrestle four or five more times this year.

In case you didn't know...

The Undertaker seemingly retired at WrestleMania 33 after leaving his hat and coat in the ring following a loss to Roman Reigns. However, he returned after a full year to decimate John Cena at WrestleMania 34.

The Phenom is now immediately set to wrestle again, just weeks later, at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia in a Casket Match against Rusev.

The heart of the matter

If things go according to plan, these two appearances might not be the only ones of The Undertaker this year, as a report from PWStream suggests that the WWE has plans for 'Taker to wrestle in several more matches before the year is through.

It's worth noting that this report is hugely speculative, with it citing 'hope' backstage and 'potentially' up to four or five times this year.

But given that The Deadman is set to wrestle twice in one month and looked to be in incredible shape at WrestleMania 34, another four or five matches don't seem to be such an outlandish thing to suggest.

What's next?

Other than the Greatest Royal Rumble what else can we expect The Undertaker to do in WWE? An appearance at SummerSlam is as good a guess as any, given that it's WWE's second biggest show after WrestleMania (or third biggest now if you count the GRR).

Author's take

I fully expect Undertaker's match against Rusev in Saudi Arabia to be a squash match and I also expect any matches 'Taker has going forward to also be squash matches. Sure he's in great shape, but he's still not as good as he used to be in the ring, and I'd like to see 'Taker look dominant again before he does retire for real this time.
