From the WWE Rumor Mill: Triple Threat match between Rousey, Asuka, and Charlotte to be first ever female WrestleMania main event next year

What's the story?

With Ronda Rousey now in the WWE, the speculation of the first ever female main event at WrestleMania has been stronger than ever, especially with other top stars like Asuka and Charlotte Flair currently on the WWE roster. However, there are rumors that next year's WrestleMania 35 will be when WWE pulls the trigger on this.

In case you didn't know...

WrestleMania 34 is already set to be record-breaking for women's wrestling with the first-ever non-gimmick, non-title, 1-on-1 singles match between two women set to happen on the show with Sasha Banks and Bailey.

If current 'Mania match card speculation is to be believed there will also be four matches featuring women on the show with the RAW and SmackDown Live Women's Titles, the aforementioned Bailey vs Banks match and, of course, the Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle vs Stephanie McMahon and Triple-H mixed-tag.

The heart of the matter

Several people who regularly get insider information on these things seem to suggest that a female WrestleMania main event isn't too far away. Twitter user Ticket Drew, who has a few insider scoops every now and then, indicated he had heard it could happen in the next two years, but would likely be sooner rather than later.

Wrestling scoop Twitter Page Slice Wrestling also released this report today stating that next year's WrestleMania, WrestleMania 35 would be the show to make history with an all-woman main event, and would pit Charlotte Flair, Asuka and Ronda Rousey against each other in a huge Triple Threat match.

What's next?

We'll have to see how this year's WrestleMania pans out first, but honestly, I can see this happening. If Asuka retains the streak, Charlotte keeps hold of her title for a while, and Ronda continues to make waves this would definitely be a match worthy of main eventing 'Mania.

Author's take

As always with reports from Slice Wrestling, please approach with caution. But I'd be well on board for this happening.
