From the WWE rumor mill: Vince McMahon is furious with Sheamus for being careless in the ring

Sheamus and Cesaro are the current #1 contenders for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships

What’s the story?

Glenn Gilbertti (formerly known as Disco Inferno in WCW) was recently on Vince Russo’s podcast “The Brand” to talk about many subjects. One subject was the recent incident where Sheamus accidentally kicked Jeff Hardy in the face resulting in the latter losing a tooth.

Disco Inferno says he has sources within the company that told him that Vince McMahon and WWE officials are furious with Sheamus over the accident.

In case you didn’t know...

Disco Inferno was a wrestler within WCW from 1995 until 2001 when McMahon purchased WCW from Ted Turner. He would never appear on WWE television during the WCW Invasion angle. Winning the WCW World Television title twice would be his best accomplishment in pro wrestling.

The heart of the matter

The Wrestling Observer would discuss the same subject a few days after the incident. Bryan Alvarez said McMahon would fire Sheamus over the matter, but Dave Meltzer disagreed as accidents do happen in professional wrestling.

Gilbertti wouldn’t expand more on his sources but would go on to say that this generation has the worst workers ever. Here’s what he said:

“There is no skill involved in kicking someone in the face for real.”

What’s next?

After last week’s win, Sheamus and Cesaro will get to take on the Hardy’s at WWE Extreme Rules on June 4th. Expect the feud to continue this week on Monday Night Raw in the meantime.

Author’s take

I would honestly take anything that comes from Glen Gilbertti or Vince Russo with a grain of salt. If there was truly heat on Sheamus by Vince, the man in charge, I highly doubt he’d have him and Cesaro win the Tag Team turmoil last week.

The feud between these two tag teams is my favourite in the WWE at this time. Sheamus and Cesaro have done a great job with their heel turn. They have truly gelled together as a tag team.
