From the WWE Rumor Mill: War Machine not scheduled to make surprise 'Mania debut against The BAR

What's the story?

Dave Meltzer confirmed via Twitter that the plan for The Bar's opponents at WrestleMania for the RAW Tag-Team Titles did not include the newly signed NXT tag-team War Machine, who are yet to feature for WWE.

In case you didn't know...

The BAR have beaten all comers including Rollins and Ambrose, Titus Worldwide and The Revival leaving them with very scarce competition for the titles on Monday Night RAW. As a result, Sheamus ended up issuing this 'Mania open challenge.

The heart of the matter

Naturally, Sheamus' open invitation to a 'Mania title match has got everyone speculating as to who will be the next challengers for his and Cesaro's tag-team titles. However, one team we can probably rule out is the team of Warbeard Hanson and Raymond Rowe otherwise known as War Machine.

That's because Dave Meltzer, who claims to have seen some sort of plan for the match has revealed via the above tweet that they definitely weren't part of the plan. So who knows when we'll finally see NXT's newly signed tag-team in action.

What's next?

The prevailing theory at the moment seems to be that Sheamus and Cesaro's mystery challengers will be two Superstars who aren't even currently a tag-team. With guys like Elias, Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman not currently lined up for a 'Mania match, amongst others, we could see a very random pairing indeed.

Author's take

The Authors of Pain and SaNiTY have also teased main roster call-ups recently, which means we might even end up with a new tag-team in the main roster for The BAR to compete with.

Either way, I quite like the mystery behind who their opponents will be and hope to be pleasantly surprised by whichever payoff the WWE ultimately chooses for this unique tag-team build.
