What’s the story?

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE is thinking about reworking some of the entrance themes of its Superstars after the recent release of veteran music composer Jim Johnston.

In case you did not know…

WWE released their long-term employee and music composer Jim Johnston in November of 2017. Johnston worked with WWE from 1985 and was the man behind the theme songs of Vince McMahon, Steve Austin, and the Rock among many others.

The WWE Music Group underwent a major shift when WWE got CFO$ on board back in 2014. Johnston apparently was relegated to a secondary role reportedly did not have a close relationship with CFO$ as well.

The heart of the matter

According to the report, WWE is planning to rework the entrances themes of numerous superstars. They did something similar with Kane recently and, if we go by the rumours, these changes could be brought in for other theme songs as well.

The changes, as mentioned, is due to the release of Jim Johnston. Earlier, rumors had suggested that the separation between WWE and Johnston was not mutual and that Johnston did not want to quit.

What’s next?

Fans will have to wait for the upcoming episodes of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live to figure out whether the rumour is true. The extent to which WWE changes the theme songs will also be an interesting thing to watch out for.

Author’s take

If the reports are to be believed, WWE and Johnston did not have a smooth separation

However, most of Johnston’s theme songs are iconic and the fans might not appreciate the changes that WWE are planning to make. On the other hand, It gives them an opportunity to showcase their creative skills and come up with something that surprises everyone.
