From the WWE Rumour Mill: Future of the Singh Brothers revealed

The brothers may not be done with WWE
The brothers may not be done with WWE

What's the story?

The Singh Brothers teamed up to take on WWE Champion AJ Styles in a two-on-one handicap match, this week. As one would expect, they lost to the champion.

Immediately following their match, we saw Jinder Mahal turn on The Singh Brothers, and there was speculation that this may be the end for the brothers in the company. A brand new rumour, reported by Cageside Seats, speculates that they may just be transitioning away from Jinder Mahal, right now.

In case you didn't know...

The Singh Brothers were originally known as the Bollywood Boyz. You may remember them from their time in Ring Ka King, GFW, NXT or 205 Live.

They adopted the Singh Brothers gimmick when they were allied with Jinder Mahal. Over time, they've become to become an invaluable part of his retinue, helping him time and again to retain the WWE Championship, when he still held the Championship.

The split sent shock waves across the WWE Universe.

The heart of the matter

The rumour speculates that The Singh Brothers may still remain in the company, just not allied to Jinder Mahal. This pretty much leaves two possibilities. The first involves them competing as a tag team, either in NXT or SmackDown Live.

The second could have them compete as singles competitors on 205 Live. Neither is a particularly attractive solution, considering how these two men have been booked.

What's next?

Over the next few weeks, we'll find out if this was all just a ruse from Mahal. Maybe the trio never breaks up at all. Maybe they all return to take out AJ Styles at Clash of Champions.

Author's take

I see a very short shelf life for the Singh Brothers away from Jinder Mahal, quite honestly. Maybe they could have a tag team run in NXT, at the very best. Considering they've been booked as lackeys, I do not see how they could get over as serious competitors.
